TPNA Easter Egg Hunt
Please join us March 22, 2016 for our first general meeting of the year. Darlene Green, Comptroller, of the city of St. Louis will be our special guest speaker. Ms. Green will be speaking on the issues that will be on the April 5 ballot such as the earnings tax.
We will also be discussing the North Hampton Neighborhood Ownership Model which was established in conjunction with the Kingshighway Hills Neighborhood Association.
Please come meet your neighbors and discuss important issues happening in the Tilles Park Neighborhood.
The Tilles Park containers and a portion of the Colleen Sondermann memorial bed are prepared for planting the Milkweed for Monarch plants we were awarded from Operation Brightside’s Neighbors Naturescaping. We have set the Park work night to be Wednesday, October 14th at 6:00 pm. We will meet at the comfort station on the Marquette St. side of the Park. Bring work gloves and hand trowels. With a good turnout of volunteers we should have no trouble getting the plants in, mulched and watered. Please join us.
There will be a court advocacy training on Thursday, October 1st at the Buder Branch Library. This is located at 4401 Hampton Ave., St. Louis, MO 63109. It will start at 6:30 p.m.

Movies in the Park are coming back this fall – On September 19th we’ll be showing Big Hero 6 and on Oct 17th we’ll be showing Happy Feet. Please bring the kids and join us for a memorable night in Tilles Park.
We have submitted an application to receive funds and plants for Milkweed for Monarchs as part of the Neighbors Naturescaping (brightsidestl.org
) greening projects. The two areas we would like to establish in the Park are the six containers near the comfort station and a portion of the Colleen Sondermann memorial bed near the playgrounds. The awards will be announced on Wed., Sept. 23rd
Because we are thinking positively and feel our application has a good chance to receive an award, we have scheduled two park work nights around the guidelines of the awards.
It will be critical to have a good turnout of volunteers and I will keep you advised of the exact dates, but tentatively the dates are as follows:
1. Wednesday, September 30th, 6-8 pm – remove annual plants and amend the soils with new top soil and compost
2. Wednesday, October 14th, 6-8 pm – install the plants and mulch
This is not a labor-intensive project, but “many hands make light work.” We will keep you posted and thank you in advance for your participation.

- How much does it cost to reserve the Pavilion?
The cost to reserve the pavilion is $40 for Tilles Park Neighborhood Association (TPNA) members and $80 for non-members. If you are a TPNA Member, please mention this in your reservation request to get the 50% discount. If you would like to become a member, please check out this page and sign up. (Hint, becoming a member will save you money on your reservation!)
- What is included in my reservation?
Reservations for the pavilion last from sunrise to dusk. No parties are approved to stay in the park beyond standard park hours set by the St Louis Park’s Department. The pavilion contains picnic tables to accommodate 75 people and has one electrical outlet. There is no grill at the pavilion. The reservation is ‘as is’ and no further tables or resources will be provided. There are restrooms available at the concession stand nearby.
- Should I be concerned with noise?
Yes, the pavilion is in a highly residential area and the use of amplified sound and/or live music is prohibited. Any use of amplified music will be reported to Park Rangers or Police and the refusal to comply with written regulations will result in the cancellation of the reservation and the party will be asked to leave.
- Where should I park my car?
There is ample street parking along Marquette (which is the Southern border of Tilles Park and is closest to the pavilion) and along the side streets Sulphur and January. Please do not drive cars into the park under any circumstance. Cars in the park will be reported to local police and owners will be ticketed.
